I remember taking Elizabeth & Sarah to see IGOR. It was a typical kid flick cartoon, almost "Disney-like", with it's message that it is each persons choice to be good or evil. It is what we do with that choice that defines us.
Labels....everyone has them, and everyone uses them. I don't care how perfect or non-judgmental one is, we all have preconceived notions of what others like, how they will respond, or who they like.
Eva is a positive, sweet, and caring monster, who doesn't like the way Scamper makes fun of Brian (his brain was put in a robot). She is kind and gives each a gift.
To Brian she gives him a new label. He can cover the permanent marker he used to write his name on the fish bowl helmet protecting his essence. Scamper dutifully makes fun of him, for misspelling brain.
The rabbit is miserable from being brought back and would like to end his life for good, but can't. Because of this, he shares his misery with those around him.
When Eva presents the label, she tells Brian that he gets a second chance to do it right, and make his life correct.
This reminds me of what happens when each of us accept Christ into our heart. We each get a new label, "Saved by Grace". All our past sins are washed away, with a new creation being created.
We get a chance to do it right the second time, because Christ believed in us enough to give us the second chance of Eternal Life.
